No, there are some variations depending on the specific stone, application and desired look. We can also create bespoke finishes to suit an individual project.
Please see individual product pages for the list of recommended finishes for each particular stone. These finishes are recommended to enhance the natural characteristics of each stone.
The samples we provide give a general indication of the stone colour and patterning. As with any natural product, the precise patterning and colour tone of some stones may vary and no two pieces are exactly the same. To help our clients decide, we can provide large sample panels of grouted tiles which give an overall indication of how the finished product will look.
Please refer to the standard formats section for the most popular layouts. Typically internal flooring is 20mm thick and external from 30mm for solid substrate installation. Each product page has details of the maximum sizes available for that particular stone. Bespoke sizes can be created to suit individual project requirements - please call or email us to discuss your requirements: email@example.com +44 (0) 1935 847333
Yes all natural stone floors should be sealed after installation to protect the stone and make maintenance easier. A natural stone floor will also benefit from re-sealing every 3-5 years as part of a routine maintenance programme. We recommend engaging a professional stone specialist to do this.
A regular cleaning and maintenance programme will help keep a natural stone floor looking its best. The amount of cleaning required will depend upon the amount of use the floor receives and the area it is in. As a general guide a regular dry brush up as part of your normal cleaning regime followed by wet cleaning will suffice. However, proprietary household cleaners including washing up liquid, must not be used as they can weaken the surface structure and break down the sealant, leaving the stone susceptible to discolouration, staining and damage. We recommend using a special PH neutral stone floor cleaner.
Any spillages on a natural stone floor should be mopped up immediately.
